Feb. 26, 2009 -- Foggo gets 37 months in prison, many more will follow soon...

Former CIA Executive Director Kyle "Dusty" Foggo received a 37 months prison sentence today from Judge James Cacheris at the U.S. Courthouse for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria. The 37 months was at the upper limit of the 30-37 months recommended under federal sentencing guidelines. Foggo is the highest-ranking CIA official to be convicted of a felony, a single count of fraud arranged under a plea agreement between Foggo and federal prosecutors.

Cacheris denied home detention for Foggo for stated reasons of Foggo's work, his "patriotism," and his family.

Foggo was the latest to be imprisoned for a massive bribery scandal involving Foggo's friend Brent Wilkes, a defense contractor, and former Representative Randy "Duke" Cunningham, both of whom are currently serving prison sentences.
