Ordinary times call for ordinary leaders, leaders who are competent managers rather than inspirational figures in the Churchill or Stalin mold... But in Lebanon we are living through extraordinary times, with wars within and menacing immediate pressures outside, a situation calling for leadership of a high caliber, to inspire the nation and summon it to action....
Criticism is easy and it is also easy to give way to CIA inspired shenanigans.... but we should not lose heart.... Other nations have been through worse times and while the weak have perished, those with some strength in them have emerged successful from their trials...and errors. We have our weaknesses and failures but also our strengths and successes. Analysis: jumping the gun....?
Israel's foreign minister jumped the gun in calling for the prosecutor of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to issue an international warrant for the arrest of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in connection with the assassination of former Lebanese President Rafik Hariri on February 14, 2005.
In a statement made Sunday, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said, "To the best of my understanding, if this is the conclusion of the investigators, an arrest warrant must be issued immediately. If it is not, he must be forcibly arrested and brought to the International Court of Justice."
However, all we know so far is that the ZIONIST/MOSSAD/SAYANIM's magazine Der Spiegel has reported that tribunal investigators believe special Hizbullah forces planned and executed the car bomb attack that killed Hariri, his bodyguards and a large number of passersby....which is a classic Psyop intended to divert attention from the real killers of the infamous White House Murder INC,
Word has been forthcoming from the prosecutor's office to deny the report.
If it indeed turns out that the report is true and the prosecutor intends to indict ASEF SHAWKAT for the crime, the statute of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) makes clear what the next steps would be.
A pretrial judge - one of eight regular judges and two substitute judges comprising the tribunal chamber - will review the indictment.
Depending on whether the judge believes the prosecutor has established a prima facie case, he is empowered to confirm or dismiss the indictment.
If the pretrial judge accepts the prosecutor's arguments, the Special Tribunal will issue warrants for the arrest of all the named suspects and the trial will be conducted before a panel of three judges, two of them international and one Lebanese. The losing side may appeal to a five-judge appeals court headed by the president of the Tribunal, Antonio Cassese and including three international judges and two Lebanese ones.
Although Lebanon has a death penalty, the statute of the Special Tribunal calls for a maximum sentence of life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of the crime.
As one can see from the UN statute on the STL, there is no need for anyone to make declarations as to what the tribunal should do. سوريا اليوم ليس لها مونة معنوية على الحزب.... وإيران لها مونة معنوية على الحزب وحلفاء الحزب المسيحيين والسنة والدروز لهم مونة على الحزب . فإذا ما وضع الحزب في موقف يا قاتل يا مقتول كما تريد حمارة الهايشة السعودية فسيكون الأمر وفقا للسيناريو التالي.
سيربح حزب الله الإنتخابات، ثم يبلغ الجيش بضب عناصره في الثكنات ، ثم ينزل إلى الشارع في العشرة آلاف واربعمئة وأثنين وخمسين كيلومتر مربع وهي مساحة لبنان ، سينزل رجال مسلحون ودججين يضعون عصبات سرايا المقاومة اللبنانية ، وهم من السنة والدروز والمسيحيين ويضعون عصبات عليها رسم الصليب في المناطق المسيحية وشعارات يا عمر بن الخطاب في المناطق السنية .
وفي خلال الساعات الأربع وعشرين التالية سيسطر حزب الله على كل السياسيين والأمنيين والناشطين المعادين له ويضعهم في السجن بتهمة تهديد الأمن والعمالة للسعودية ولأميركا ولإسرائيل .
في اليوم التالي : ولفراغ الحكومة ومجلس النواب من ثلثي أعضائهم بسبب عمالة أولئك الأعضاء . سيدعو حزب الله إلى إنشاء مجلس قيادة ثورة يرأسه إميل رحمة ، وإلى إنتخابات جديدة وفقا لقانون يقره مجلس ثوري يرأسه وئام وهاب ويوافق عليه مجلس دستوي معين وينص على إجراء الإنتخابات خلال شهر واحد بناء لقانون النسبية ولبنان دائرة إنتخابية واحدة على أن يوافق المجلس الدستوري الذي يرأسه سعد الله الخوري على أهلية المرشحين من عدمها .
بعد الإنتخابات النيابية الجديدة سيجتمع مجلس النواب الجديد وينتخب الأب قزي رئيسا للجمهورية وبعدها يتراجع حزب الله ويستلم السلطة مباشرة أثنين هما المسيحيين والسنة من حلفاء حزب الله .
في هكذا سينايو ما الذي يمكن لإسرائيل ولأميركا أن تفعلاه ؟

Eight months later, a report to the UN about Hariri’s assassination outlined a plot of astonishing complexity: a mysteriously reduced security detail, remarkably detailed intelligence on his movements and the moving of the truck into position just one minute and 49 seconds prior to the convoy passing by - all of this bore the hallmarks of a government-sponsored assassination. It implicated if not Syrian President Bashar Assad directly, then at least his inner circle.
The violent death of a charismatic figure created a huge hole in Lebanese politics - just at the time when there was a rising backlash in the country against Syrian influence in the region and its own territory.
There has been an endless meddling with investigations by the UN - its International Independent Investigation Commission is a farce and most probably a disguise for a politically-agreed “blame scenario” to settle the issue and to further Syria’s standing in the peace process.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise though, that there seems to be a “breakthrough” in tribunal investigations as new evidence - obtained by Der Spiegel, a German magazine - seems to point to Hezbollah as being behind the Hariri murder.
This quite obviously reeks of a political cover-up by the UN/CIA commission....and its chief agents Serge Brammertz who allowed false evidence to be implanted by CIA on the crime scene and NICK CIA KALDASS, who is a well known stooge and puppet of CIA.....
An intact Syrian leadership may be needed to further the Middle East peace process - so it may be deemed inappropriate to implicate it in a murder of such prominence.
Whatever the reasons behind “new” evidence being discovered and dispersed among the press, it sure is surprising that Hezbollah is coming up as the villain for the first time ever.
Then why are obvious questions not being asked? Why are journalists contend to write about a “breakthrough“, when it just reeks of a cover-up and the explanation for Hezbollah’s involvement is far-fetched?
The UN has failed time and time again - just think of the Oil-for-Food Programme, Kofi Annan’s questionable role in it etc - to provide truthful statements about areas of conflict and dispute and has confined itself to obscuring the truth and giving in to political meddling in too many instances.
If someone gets payed, as journalists do, to ask at least the obvious questions and to go beyond face-value and to report about the conclusions they draw, and by all means fails in that respect, then I am not willing to pay money - and more importantly respect - for that kind of journalism anymore.
Consider me utterly unconvinced, dear Spiegel, of your reporting standards.

These not-so-subtle threats have led to charges of U.S. interference in Lebanon’s domestic affairs. What prompts U.S. concerns is that the largest member of this coalition is Hezbollah, the populist Shiite party which the United States considers to be a terrorist organization.
As senators, both Biden and Clinton insisted that this diverse coalition was somehow controlled by Iran and/or Syria. In reality, there is little evidence to suggest that Syrian and Iranian influence on the populist Shia party and its allies is any greater than U.S. influence on some of Lebanon’s other political factions. While the Iranians played a key role in the early development of Hezbollah’s militia back in the early 1980s when it was fighting the Israeli occupation of the southern part of their country, the party has subsequently emerged as an independent and popular -- albeit in many respects fundamentalist and reactionary -- force and the only major party not tied to the elite families which have dominated Lebanese politics for generations.
Such interference by top Obama administration officials has not been well-received by the Lebanese. Both Biden and Clinton were outspoken supporters of Israel’s devastating 2006 military offensive in Lebanon, which took the lives of up to 1400 civilians and caused billions of dollars of damage to the country’s civilian infrastructure. Much of Israel’s massive bombardments struck areas many miles from any Hezbollah military activities and ended up strengthening popular support for this extremist group beyond its base in the Shia community.
Despite exhaustive empirical studies by Human Rights Watch and other groups which found no evidence that any of the civilian deaths were caused by Hezbollah using civilians as “human shields,” both Clinton and Biden – without providing any contradictory evidence – have insisted that they did and have refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing by the Israeli government. Even moderate and secular Lebanese, who strongly opposed Hezbollah’s provocative actions (used by the Israelis and their American supporters to launch the offensive), still harbor enormous resentment towards the Bush administration and those in Congress who supported this devastating war against their country.
There is particular anger at Biden over his support for Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon, which led to the deaths of up to 27,000 civilians, as well as his defense of the Israeli occupation of the southern part of that country and the shelling of nearby Lebanese towns and cities, which lasted until May of 2000. Many Lebanese – including some of Hezbollah’s bitterest opponents – wonder why those like Clinton and Biden, who have defended foreign forces wreaking such death and destruction on their country, have any right to tell them how to vote.
In addition, the United States has had a rather fickle history in its support of various factions in Lebanon’s notoriously fratricidal politics. Indeed, the United States has a history of switching sides in terms of who it views as the bad guys and the good guys.
For example, during the 1970s and 1980s, the United States backed right-wing, predominantly Maronite militias such as the Phalangists and the predominantly Druze Progressive Socialist Party at the same time, since Walid JUMBLATT was recruited by CIA since his days at AUB... During the 1982-84 U.S. intervention in Lebanon, U.S. forces made believe that they are fighting the Socialists directly, including launching "smoke shells" air and sea bombardments against Druze villages in the Shouf Mountains....which did absolutely ZERO damage since Jumblatt is a CIA agent..... Now, however, the U.S. supports the fake caviar Socialists of the CIA stooge walid Jumblatt....., who currently ally themselves with the pro-Western May 14th Alliance of idiots, patsies, stooges and puppets of CIA/MOSSAD/MI6/DIA....
Similarly, the United States supported the Shia Amal militia in 1985-86 when it was fighting armed Palestinian groups as well as in 1988 when Amal was fighting Hezbollah forces. Today, however, the United States is again "make believe" strongly opposed to Amal, since Nabih BERRI has always been a DIA asset, now part of the March 8th alliance, acting as if they are one with Hezbollah.
The United States supported Syria’s initial military intervention in Lebanon back in 1976 as a means of suppressing leftist forces and their Palestinian allies. Similarly, the U.S. supported the bloody Syrian-instigated coup in late 1990 that consolidated Syria’s political control of the country. Subsequently, however, the United States became a FAKE leading critic of Syria’s domineering role of the country’s government, which continued until a popular nonviolent uprising during the spring of 2005 forced a Syrian withdrawal from the country.
In a more recent example, as part of a U.S. policy to support hard-line Sunni fundamentalist groups as a counter-weight to the growth of radical Shia movements in Iraq and Lebanon, the U.S. encouraged Lebanese parliamentary majority leader Saad Hariri to provide amnesty for radical Salafi militants who were run by CIA and their leader carried a US passport and was helped by DOJ and CIA....., who were released from jail. As such CIA militants began causing problems in the northern city of Tripoli in 2006 from a base in a Palestinian refugee camp, however, the U.S. then backed a bloody Lebanese army crackdown.
One of the most bizarre switches in U.S. allegiances involves former Lebanese Army General Michel Aoun, a Maronite, and his Free Patriotic Movement, the most popular Christian-led political group in the country. As an ally to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in 1990, the United States gave a green light to the Syrians to have Aoun overthrown as interim Lebanese prime minister in a violent coup. Not long afterward, however, the United States then switched sides to support Aoun and oppose the Syrians and their supporters. As recently as 2003, Aoun was feted by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies – a neo-conservative group with close ties with the Bush administration, which includes among its leaders Newt Gingrich, James Woolsey, Jack Kemp, and Richard Perle, as well as Democratic Senators Charles Schumer and Joseph Lieberman. The group declared him a champion of freedom and democracy. Aoun won similar praise from both Republican and Democratic members of Congress when he testified that year before the House International Relations Committee.
Soon after his return to Lebanon from exile, however, Aoun became one of the most outspoken opponents of the U.S.-backed political leaders and parties which dominate the current Lebanese government and he and his movement are now allied with Hezbollah in the March 8th Alliance. Not surprisingly, he is now considered once again to be one of the bad guys.
If history has proven anything, the United States has little to gain and much to potentially lose in taking sides in Lebanon. It would behoove President Barack Obama to keep hawks like Clinton and Biden on a short leash and allow the Lebanese people to determine their own destiny.....
Lately, the USraelian Empire has been in the panic mode. On June 7th, an election will take place in Lebanon. Unsurprisingly, Hezbollah should do very well. And why not? Hezbollah single handedly beat the Israelis, it prevented a coup by the Lebanese "Three Stooges" (Hariri, Jumblatt, Siniora and other little stooges and puppets....) and it has re-built the areas destroyed by the Israelis in a record time.
Obama's puppeteers understand this and this is why they have come up with an "oh-so-slick" response to this threat: they sent Biden to Lebanon and planted a story in Spiegel claiming that it was Hezbollah which killed Hariri.
Biden to Lebanon is just the pinnacle of arrogance and hubris. The Imperial High Command absolutely refuses to admit that being seen with a senior Imperial Leader is a kiss of death for any Arab politician unless that politician is a total USraelian stooge and puppet (Mubarak, the Abdallahs and ASSAD come to mind)....
As for blaming Hezbollah for the murder of Hariri, one has to feel some sympathy for the plight of the Empire. See, Lebanon does not have a marketplace quite like Markale, or a village quite like Racak: with the entire press corps ready to pick-up any "massacre" report no matter how absurd and without any possibility for the local authorities to investigate. So blaming the Hariri murder on Hezbollah is the best possible option - never mind that Syria has been blamed for it almost since day one (blaming Syria was needed then, blaming Hezbollah is needed now) and never mind that Hezbollah had nothing to gain, and much to loose, by such an action....and never mind that the infamous White House Murder INC, in the Levant with Asef SHAWKAT pulled off most assassinations since January 24th 2002 on behalf of the Siamese twins CIA2/MOSSAD killers and that is a certainty....

These silly tactics will not bring a single vote to the USraelian stooges in Lebanon. Those who are already at the Empire's service do not need more "reasons" (they need money and power). Those who support Hezbollah will only laugh at the crude and predicable nature of these operations. And the few in the middle who might hesitate in their vote will probably find themselves more, not less, attracted to the Party which manages to elicit such nonsensical but frantic interventions by the USraelians.
I predict that Hezbollah will do amazingly well in the next elections and that the US puppets currently in power in Lebanon will loose most of their power.
We will find out soon enough.....
I am curious to why the disdain for those that support Iran in Lebanon... who should they be looking to? Israel who massacred so many of their people...? Or America that has meddled and interfered with their internal politics for so long with disastrous results? America and Israel have sown death and destruction in our country, empowered the corrupt and the crooked and little else whilst Iran have given to the people, empowered the people to defend themselves from a little disguised attempt at annexing their nation.
Who stands to gain ? Certainly not Iran... but Israel would stand to gain with a distressed and abandoned Hezbollah who stand between Israel and the Litani river which Israel covets... America stands to gain too as it still wants to build its "super-base" on Hezbollah controlled territory.

Hezbollah is a completely different type of creature from the sectarian terrorist organization Hamas. Hezbollah is the closest thing that Lebanon has to a responsible, truly national government. Bear with me:
- The Lebanese government is split down Christian/Sunni confessional lines and has always excluded Shiites, whereas Hezbollah is multi-confessional and is closely allied with a majority of Lebanon's Christians.
- The Lebanese government has always been deeply corrupt; Hezbollah is a model of good governance in comparison. The south of the country depends entirely on Hezbollah for social services.
- Hezbollah respects democracy and hasn't used its superior military strength to topple the foreign-backed stooges in Beirut, unlike Hamas, which ousted Fatah from Gaza with a bloody coup.
- Hezbollah does not resort to terrorism, unlike Hamas, which was bombarding Israel with Kassams until it was crushed by the largely successful Israeli anti-terrorist operation in Gaza.
- Hezbollah has a disciplined and well-trained army that defeated Israeli aggression twice, unlike the Lebanese puppet government that has shown itself incapable and unwilling to defend its own territory against foreign aggression, or Hamas whose militants hid in holes and in hospitals instead of fighting the IDF.
- It's true that Hezbollah hosts medium-range missiles pointed at Israeli cities but has not used them (except to fire a single warning shot into uninhabited territory in central Israel), showing more restraint than Saddam, for example, even when it was under full-scale attack from Israel. The restraint it has shown when it was under the full brunt of an attack directed at its very existence makes it much less likely that it will launch those missiles at Tel Aviv on Tehran's orders if Israel bombs Iran's nukes....

(C) Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea and Minister of Tourism and loyal LF member Joseph Sarkis stopped by the Embassy at 1800 on May 12 to report to the Charge, A/DCM, Defense Attache, and PolOff on his day of meetings with key political figures. Geagea declared at the outset that he had visited Prime Minister Fouad Siniora earlier in the day at 1500, and "Siniora is doing excellently," which we note is an improvement from the previous day (Ref A). Geagea explained that the PM is isolated from the outside world since he is holed up for security reasons at the Grand Serail. 4. (C) Geagea reported that he visited the PM to convince him to convene the Cabinet in order to discuss withdrawing its May 5 decisions to transfer the head of airport security and declare Hizballah's fiber optics network illegal (Ref B).
